Box flow charts for pipelines. Write stages joined by arrows and the chart draws itself: data collection to synthesis to action to disbursement to allocation, or any process you can name. Branches are extra lines, and the chart runs like a machine: boxes are operators. A dot, a square and a diamond go into a merge and all three come out wearing that box's circle: worked the same way, still themselves, and traceable by their inner shape all the way back to the source that produced them.
